Flash Video Downloader is an application which allows you to easily batch download and save streaming flash videos from most streaming video sites (e.g. youtube, google video, dailymotion, etc)
One nice thing about this app is you just have to put in the url and it will find the video on it’s own.
(And you can watch them with the SWF and FLV Player or with Quicktime and Perian.”

Shindler makes it easy to keep track of what is on your external hard drives and USB devices. Just drag and drop a folder or or drive on the app’s icon and it will create a text file that lists all the files by their location.
I’ve been looking for a way to do this for free since Touvaly went the way of the almighty dollar.
(Note: This developer also offers some other useful apps.)

ThisService “lets you turn any command line script or AppleScript into a system service, accessed from the Services menu.”
The developer took the request from John Gruber and ran with it. He “built a tool to easily turn any command line script (shell script, script written in Ruby, Perl, Python or PHP) or any AppleScript responding to a certain handler into a full-blown first-class service, complete with name and keyboard shortcut. ”
Don’t worry, he has some example scripts for you to play with.

If you are going to take the time to run a site you’ll want to be sure it all gets kept up nicely. You’ve got to watch out for broken links and moved pages. Integrity will help you out. Feed it your home page address (url) and Integrity will follow all of your internal links to find your pages, checking the server response code for all internal and external links found.
So take some time and check out your site. Just be ready in case you have some site-maintenance work ahead of you.

Well, this is an interesting application. Subliminal message flashes a text or image message for a split second at a set interval of time.
“You may be surprised that you can perceive a very brief and dim flash of a text message or picture. Because of its perceived power and influence at the subliminal level, this effect is not allowed in TV advertisements in many countries.”
(If you need a good message to flash, feel free to use the one I used in the screenshot.)

Mailboxer is a simple app that creates a Smart mailbox for everyone in your Address Book. Sounds like that could be a bad idea if you have LOTS of contacts in your Address Book, but on the other hand, it might be nice to keep all your correspondence organized.

Yum brings recipe organization to your Mac. I really like the feel of this application. It’s easy to create new recipes and add a list of ingredients. You can tab between fields and choose from a drop-down menu of previously entered quantities, units, and ingredients. The drop-downs come pre-filled with quantities like quart, tablespoon, or pinch and ingredients like chili sauce, milk, and lemon juice, and you can of course add your own. Then specify the instructions and how many people it serves.
Yum also has a cool feature to calculate how much of each ingredient you’ll need if you want to scale up or down what a recipe will yield.

Several days ago the blogosphere was a buzz with news that a certain Terminal command would “vacuum” your Mail folder, shrinking the site of your message database and causing Mail to load much faster. VacuumMail makes this easier by performing the command for you. There are no preferences or options with program; as soon as you open it, it performs the “vacuum” and then your Mail app should perform much faster. You should probably close Mail before running this app.

LockTight is a Preference Pane that lets you lock your screen with a single keystroke. More accurately, it lets you enable the screensaver with a single keystroke, then if you have your Security preferences set to “Require password to wake this computer from sleep or screen saver” your computer will be safe. This is an alternative to using a mouse corner to activate the screen saver. This is based on a similar program called SleepTight, but LockTight should work on Intel Macs as well.

Many of my friends have Facebook accounts, so it’s a great place to stay up to date on what they’re doing and to see their photos. While it has a pretty good interface for uploading pictures, this plugin make it’s even easier. With the Facebook Exporter for iPhoto, you can send photos directly from iPhoto to Facebook. You can also put them in albums, add captions, and tag them. If you use Facebook and iPhoto, you’ll definitely want this plugin.
