Bean is a rich text editor for the OS environment. Bean’s goal is to provide the right tool for writers, not to outdo MS Word. While it doesn’t have all of the features you might find in an Office product, Bean is still robust enough to produce attractive documents.
After all, you don’t always need the whole tool-box to fix the problem. For those who have a hard time loosening their grip on MS, Bean even comes with partial compatibility with Word.
