Bleezer is a free blogging client that works with a lot of the popular blog formats. (WordPress, Typepad, Blogger, etc.) It has all of the expected features (tags, spell check, pinging) and it is cross platform so you can use it on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux.
So while MarsEdit and ecto are popular choices, you have to pay to play that game. Bleezer is a free and good alternative.
