Buddi joins the ranks of other financial apps on Freemacware.com. I consider this one of the best in the class. Buddy has a nice icon and a clean interface. You can setup checking accounts and loans, add transactions, and then generate reports and graphs of your activity. It’s really straight forward to use. It can also encrypt your data file for added security.

Balance is a simple and effective way to keep track of your personal finances. It is really as straight-forward as it can be. It offers your different accounts (checking, investments, savings, etc) and lets you list your deposits and charges/withdrawals. It also keeps a nice chart to reference quickly.
It’s always a good idea for every person to track their expenses for at least a month. Even if you can’t do it for longer than that, you should be able to see how your money is spent and where you could save better. For example, my wife was working full time. Because she was quite tired each day after work, we’d usually go to eat at a restauraunt three or four days a week. After tracking that amount we spent, we figured that it would actually be less expensive for her to work just 30 hours a week and then get home two hours earlier to cook a good, healthy dinner. So she rolled back her time at work, we’re better off financially and as a bonus we both feel healthier.
So grab Balance, Luca or Cashbox see what you can do to save a little money.

Luca is a “fully-functional, accrual-based accounting system” similar to QuickBooks. Keep track of your company finances with separate accounts, a balance sheet, and a P&L sheet. The financial data can be optionally stored in a MySQL or PostgreSQL database if you want to integrate with your other company data.

We’ve already posted about a nice app that will help you track your expenses (Cashbox). But in order to really see how you’re doing you need to know if your cash flow is set up to provide you debt free living. This is where Cash Forecaster comes in.
With this financial app, you can input your regular expenses and your regular revenue. Then, you’ll be able to see a graph of where you’re headed. It’s easy to input info and to get the feedback you need. This is an absolute necessary app for a business.

We are all looking for ways to improve our personal finance habits. For me, there is nothing better to do that than to look over a past month and see exactly what I have been spending my money on. Burn is a great freeware app for doing exactly that.
Burn allows you to list your expenses and mark them with a date and category. You can track everything from mortgage and auto loan payments to everytime you drop the two dollars on the exceptional new fish tacos at Del Taco.
Another good use for this app is to track your business expenses to report at the end of each month.

Freemind is is free mind mapping software. It works good for writing essays or conducting experiments. But I also find it very useful for finances, projects, and just organizing your thoughts and plans.
FreeMind is easy to use and well put together.

Cashbox is a nice alternative to the expensive and often bloated financial management software available. It offers the most important features (imports from banks, graphs, transfers, reconciling, etc), but not too much that it is overwhelming. So get those finances in order and see just where all that money is going.
Whitney Young does great work with her software.
