A reader wrote in asking about freeware that will help him better organize the cd’s that he backs his files up to. Ask and you shall receive.

CDCatalog is a program that will scan your discs into a database and then give you an id for each disc. Then, when you search for a file in your database, CDCatalog will let you know which disc it is on. It’s quite simple, but if you do a lot of backing up, it can sure help you stay organized.
