We love it when the freeware we review has pretty icons, but don’t let this generic icon fool you. Formulate is very very useful.

Formulate will let you overlay text onto a PDF file. Until now, most people download a form, print it, fill it out, and scan it back in or snail mail it. With Formulate, you can overlay the text right onto the PDF. Then, when everything is filled, save it as a PDF again and you have a new PDF with the form all filled in. Incredibly useful.

A couple of notes: Be sure to grab the practice form because it gives you instruction on how to use the features. Also, open the PDF by dragging it onto the Formulate icon.
