HandBrake is a great freeware application that will let you rip your DVD’s to your computer and compress them to smaller files. (Including H.264). This is good for a few reasons.
- play the movie on the road without having to spin the DVD (This saves battery)
- put all of your movies in a Mac Mini and connect it to your TV to be watched at anytime
- international DVD’s can be ripped and played in any region
