Highlight is a nice supplement to Spotlight. With Highlight, you can import files and folders to the Spotlight index by dragging and dropping. This is an easy way to be sure that your files are indexed and can be found when you need them.
This freeware also gives you a user interface to the mdls Terminal command. mdls lets you work with metadata that Spotlight tracks. Usually this is done in Terminal, but Highlight allows you to view metadata in the GUI.
