All UNIX systems (including Mac OS X) have a set of maintenance scripts that automatically run every day, week, and month. On old mainframes that were always left on these scripts were sure to run without fail, but on a Powerbook that’s on and off, open and closed, these scripts may miss their schedule. MacJanitor will run these scripts (manually) so you can be sure the maintenance gets done.
