MacTheRipper is great freeware for backing up the DVD’s that you own. While HandBrake will take your movie and compress it to a smaller file, MacTheRipper is made to take the full DVD off and perform tasks like:
- remove CSS encryption
- remove Macrovision protection
- set the disk’s region code to ‘0′
- remove RCE region protection
There are more that this program can do. But suffice it to say that this is a great way to make a “unrestricted copy of any DVD movie you own.” And there are good instructions on doing this.
