If you like the convenience of Menu Items, but you don’t like the icons taking up your Menu all the time, Menu Butler is the app for you. Menu Butler is a widget that will let you quickly add icons for common items like Airport, Bluetooth, Displays, etc.
Just click on the icon in the widget and it willl be place in the Menu bar. As soon as you’re done useing it (and you want your Menu bar space back), hold Command and drag the icon off. It will go up in a poof of smoke.
