Of all the freeware I use, this bundle of Automator actions probably saves me the most time. Using these actions with Automator will give you access to many of the most used features in Photoshop. The list is too long to include here, but the developer gives a very detailed list.

There are bundles for Photoshop CS and CS2 and he is always adding more actions. (Each action has a button that automatically checks for updates.)

While Automator can never really use all the great power in photoshop, these actions can certainly get rid of the tedious tasks so you can have more time to be creative.
