One of my favorite features of Mac OS is how easy it is to grab screenshots. With Command-Shift-3 you can grab a picture of the whole desktop and with Command-Shift-4 you can select parts of the screen. Each version of the Mac OS has a default file type for the captured image — Pict before OS X, PDF for 10.0 to 10.3, and PNG for 10.4.
With savescreenie, you can choose which kind of file type to use for screen captures. You can choose any of the common file types, and you can always revert back to the default file type.
