For a long time I wanted to have a way to keep to-do lists for myself. I took a look at all the online options and all the applications available for download. I just had a hard time finding one that I liked. This changed when I found the Ta-da List Widget. And ironically, it is a mix of online and local.
Tadalist.com is a free service from the good folks at 37Signals. When I first checked out the service, I thought it was nice but kind of a pain to have to do all dealings thru the browser. When I found the widget I was sold.
First you’ll have to make a free account withTadalist.com. Once you sign in online once, you may never need to visit the site afain. Ta-da lists widget makes it really easy to create new lists and add to-do’s for that list. For instance, I have “Do For Work”, “Do For Sites”, “Do For Church”, and “Random To-do’s” as my four lists. You can have as many as you’d like.
To enter in a new to-do for any list, it’s as easy as typing it in and hitting return. Clicking on the header image will open up your account online. I especially like that you can choose whether to sync the lists everytime that you activate dashboard. If you only use one computer, you don’t need to do this. But, if you have multiple computers like I do, you can sync with the site each time and the lists will stay up to date on all of the computers.
Big thanks to the developer for this. I don’t run a lot of widgets (1,2,3,4), but this one makes the cut. I liked it so much that I donated for his efforts. Honestly, between this widget and my new email reminder system, I’ve been much more productive lately.
