Teleport will let you contol two different Macs with the same mouse and keyboard. I recently purchased an iMac G5 to stay at my office while I carted my Powerbook between the office and home. Teleport has really come in handy for this.
The thing I like about Teleport is that it is automatic. When my Powerbook and iMac are on the same network then I can jump back and forth just by moving the mouse to the side of the screen. But when I bring the Powerbook home and join that network, I don’t get any nag messages that the iMac can not be found. It just works when it is supposed to and is invisble when it is supposed to be invisible.
Another nice feature is that you can copy the content of the pasteboard between computers when the cursor jumps. This has made it easy to copy URL’s and passwords between computers.
It is also VERY easy to install.
If you are running a Mac Mini at your house as a media server, I could see this being very useful. You can be working on your laptop on the couch and use that same trackpad and keyboard to control the Mac Mini.
