TextWrangler is the little brother to BBEdit, the long-lived, award-winning, and expensive text editor for Mac. TextWrangler wasn’t always free, but now it is. Like BBEdit, it subscribes to the philosophy of being feature rich (as opposed to light-weight.) Here are a few of its features:

• Open hidden files
• Open From or Save To an FTP or SFTP server
• File comparisons
• Search and replace with regular expressions on multiple files
• Strip quotes, zap gremlins (bad characters), add/remove line numbers
