TrimTheFat is a simple, silent drop-launch utility to strip the code for the architecture(s) you’re not using from a Universal application. This can potentially save you room on your hard drive. (Here are some more ways to save room on your Mac.)
The developer does say that it is “a work-in-progress being released so people have something in-hand and to encourage feedback.”
But, he has added an updateable “blacklist” to bypass the growing number of apps that refuse to run after detecting apparent tampering with the executable. Be sure to have a backup of your apps. Some apps don’t like working after they’ve been stripped. Would you?
