I mentioned VLC and how useful it is when watching video. I enjoy watching the video in fullscreen, but didn’t like having the controls over the show. To avoid this, I use the VLC Widget. While watching the video, activate dashboard to stop, pause, go forward, backward, and adjust the volume.
I did notice a slight delay on some of the actions, but overall it is very useful to have.
