WakeOnLan will let you find other Macs on the network and bring them out of Sleep mode.
When I’m not working on my iMac, I’m usually sitting on my couch working on my Macbook. I like to work in the living room because that is where the HDTV is located. When it comes time to fire up the Apple TV and watch some shows, it’s always a bummer to see that the iMac has gone to sleep and is now unable to stream all of our TV Shows. This is where WakeOnLan comes in. Just fire up the app and you’ll be able to wake up any Mac on the local network. It will also allow you to put it back to sleep.
